Many students do not know all the options for their lunch period. The most popular location is the lunchroom. The lunchroom is a wonderful place to hang out and talk with friends. Eight out of ten students sit in the lunchroom. In the lunchroom you are surrounded by friends and there is a sense of community. Although there are many pros of sitting in the lunchroom there are also many cons. Some of the big problems are that it is loud and crowded, which you may find overwhelming. Also, you may have to worry about who you are going to sit next to. Or people being mean to you. But luckily there’s other options.
One popular option is the library! It is quiet and a good environment to get work done. Not too many people go to the library, so it is not overcrowded either. Nicole Shea from seventh grade says, “if you want to get your work done and study for tests it’s a good place to get work done.” The library is a great option but there are also aspects that are not so good. Like sometimes there are things going on like big tests or meetings that take place in the library, so it is not always a promising option. Instead, another option is the West gym. The west gym is a perfect place to hang out and relax, there are ping pong tables set up. And they are super fun to play with. But the West gym also has gymnastics equipment set up in it, so you must be very respectful and careful around the equipment. It is also recommended that you go down there with an adult or find a gym teacher so that they can find the ping pong paddles so that you are not alone.
