In September, the Buddies Club hosted their first event of the school year, the Buddies Dance. I had the pleasure of meeting with Mrs. O’Halloran to find out more about the Buddies Dance and how to get involved.
Q: What is the purpose and importance of the Buddies Dance?
A: The Buddies Dance gives Babylon students an opportunity to mentor fellow students with cognitive disabilities and gives those students an opportunity for a social gathering.
Q: Who is invited to attend the Buddies Dance?
A: Any student at BHS can be a Buddy and volunteer at our events. The students that are invited have cognitive disabilities from Babylon and surrounding districts.
Q: How many years have the Buddies been holding the Buddies Dance?
A: The Buddies Dance began in 2012! That’s 12 years already!
Q: How can Babylon students get involved?
A: The Buddies Club meets every Thursday at 715 AM in room 126. Join us!
