Mr. Smith Teacher Interview

This year, BHS has welcomed many wonderful new teachers! Mr. Smith’s passion for making a positive impact and challenging students’ thought processes led him to the Babylon community. Mr. Smith has held many teaching positions including Social Studies and Special Ed. However, he is not limited to working in education as he explains he would have chosen a path in construction management if he hadn’t pursued teaching. Coming from Utica College, Mr. Smith appreciates the tight-knit community within our district. Though our teachers dedicate many hard-working hours to our school and students, they also enjoy their own hobbies outside of work. Mr. Smith spends his free time outdoors fishing or hiking. When he’s not out in nature, you can find him at the gym. This explains why if given the chance to create any club at our school he’d start a weightlifting club. It makes sense that his career is focused on helping students as he has much advice to give. He lives by the phrase “set your expectations slightly out of reach”. This way it will be hard not to achieve your goals. If this all wasn’t enough, he actually has the same birthday as his dog! We hope he loves his time here at BHS!
