On Sunday, May 21, the National Science Honor Society, along with members of the Babylon community, went to Gilgo to clean up the beach.

We found some crazy things: a broken bowling ball, Mother’s Day balloons, an empty container of kitty litter, a full can of whipped cream, an empty bottle of bleach, and so much more. The Lessing’s Hospitality group sponsored this community service event. There were raffles and bagels for the volunteers to enjoy.

Approximately 75 volunteers came and each one filled at least one or two garbage bags. Led by Mrs. Schappert and the Save the Beaches organization, this event was a huge success!!
