On April 28th, the National Honor Society induction ceremony was held outside on the Coach Walter Williams field. Principal Cirone and Chapter Advisers Mr. Fasano and Mrs. Scholl congratulated the inductees on their achievement. NHS Chapter President Ella Higgins, Vice President Iqra Yousuf, Secretary Darby Dreher, Treasurer Michelle Ruggiero, and Publicist Megan Burke each spoke about the four pillars of NHS: leadership, character, service, and scholarship. Five candles were lit to symbolically represent these values and NHS as a whole. After this, each new inductee was called to receive a certificate recognizing their membership in NHS. After the ceremony had concluded, an outdoor barbecue lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers was served.

On May 5th, there was an induction ceremony for the National ASL Honor Society, National Business Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Société Honoraire de Français, and Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica. This year’s ceremony was the first time that these honor societies shared one induction ceremony. The ceremony was originally planned to be held outside but was held in Rowe Hall instead due to rain. After speeches from advisers and officers from each of the honor societies, each new inductee received a folder containing certificates for all the honor societies they had been inducted into. After the ceremony, inductees were brought to the cafeteria for a Cinco de Mayo feast.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, parents were not allowed to attend either of these induction ceremonies. Instead, the ceremonies were livestreamed so that parents could still experience them in real time, albeit virtually.
