The story starts with a detective, his name is detective D, how did he end up solving these hard crimes well it’s a long story.

It all started in a little town in 1928 there the detective or darnel, was playing with his brother jake, they 2 were inseparable.

So, their bond was strong until one day as they were both playing a group of bullies approached the two from the ally way. His brother had a strong sense of justice so jake needed to do what was right, but they cornered jake and with a knife they killed him, and the bullies ran away without a trace. Darnel after that was traumatized by the event and vowed to get revenge on the bullies.

 

 

35 years later.

Darnel became a world class detective but still never solved the case of his dead brother.

But then he got a call from the police chief. He said to get to the police station imminently, he made it to the station to solve another case.

He said “don’t worry I’m on the case” so he went to the crime and conveniently it was the case of jake, and many other bodies too,

 

 

Some conflict?

Darnel went to multiple crime scenes and then once he step into the ally way, he started to have a trigger.

He couldn’t breathe and casted a flashback of the events when he was younger like a movie, and he started to shake looking back at the knife until he saw a hand, and then his partner Mr. Wallace helped Darnel and Darnel snaped out of it.

 

 

The detective works.

As Wallace and Darnel was at the crime scenes, they found DNA samples as well as smell and the murder weapon.

There was also a signature it was a drawing of an ink type shadow of all the victims including jake.

They returned to the station to relook at the evidence, they put the weapon in the machine to check the DNA, but it was different from any scanning they did in past. The readings came out with black DNA. It was dark as a shadow.

 

 

“Alright let’s Go.”

while looking at the DNA using his heighten senses, he was able to see a little bit of color.

Then he remembered a little bit more in the flashback, one of the kids had an ink shadow on his arm and realized that this is how he killed the other victims in the same way.  As he was monologuing, he found out more pieces of evidence like how he left black tar almost like dark matter flowing to the different location, so he went back to the crime scene with Wallace.

 

 

More detail

Then he and Wallace gathered all the bodies to check for evidence using his extreme senses he detects that each body including his brothers was sliced in 6 different directions with a little switch blade/ knife. The location would be hard, but darnel was able to see a little S on the building he took more pictures and returned to the station with Wallice.

 

 

The encounter.

Both Wallace and Darnel went to the station and wrapped their heads on the location and narrowed it down to be located at an abandoned power plant right across from the ally way where his brother died.

Darnel now set to go wanted to rush in, but his eyes, blood red was set on vengeance without reason, he was also really distressed, and he was heavily breathing, his teeth was as sharp as fangs to signify how much he wanted this, wanted him gone.

 

 

The talk.

Before he went to the power plant Wallace grabbed his arm telling him to wait and to hold on and to take a minute as well. “Just look at me and breathe” “just try to follow me, 1..2..3..4..5;.1..2..3..4..5.” “There do you feel a little better?”  “Well…I feel a little better.” Darnel’s voice was distorted and couldn’t speak at all, then he broke down. “It’s just I don’t know what to do ok!” I’m scared of this and about how my brother would feel if he was still here….he….he would think I’m a failure…like I didn’t avenge him and what I could have done if I only got out sooner, he could have still been here, alive and well….and…. with….me.  what would he think of me now that I’m too weak to do anything…. I can’t even go there without freaking out.” what makes its think I can be good enough to….do this. How do I break this pain…. how?

 

 

The talk pt2

“Well, you can’t really break it can you?”  “…. I …don’t think I can, how can you break something that’s not there!” 

“Well, it’s not something you break…. it’s something you need to pass through. “What do you mean?” “I mean its like a ghost. In order to get passed a ghost you need to step through, right?” “Well, all you need is one step. One step forward to pass through the ghost to make it into the light.” “One step forward to get out of the shadow life created for you, one step to create and finish the story you want to make,

But it’s only a step you choose to make.”

“A step I choose?” “But what happens if it comes again then what! its just proves how useless I was.”   

“They come and go.” “Because it’s a shadow. “It doesn’t just go away it makes it where it doesn’t affect you. “You just need take a leap, a step out of the shadow, once you figure out that step, you’ll see how much smaller the shadow really was.”

Look I know how much your brother meant to you but think he would have wanted to you to flourish, grow, love, and to be your own person, not determined by events. And he would have wanted you to keep fighting for what’s right. If your ever in a dark place just remember to breathe and to take the first step.

“Heh…. Your right this is what he would have wanted he would have wanted me to continue not let a shadow consume me.” “……well, I…. don’t know what I would have done without you.” thanks……friend.”

 

 

I…hope you’re ok.

“That’s it I got it’s at the old power plant…. I remember it when I was younger, Alright let’s go.”   now both Wallace and Darnel went to the old power plant. It was dark, damp, and vile you can even see cracks all around the windows. As they went inside an unknown entity came out of nowhere and slashed Darnel in the ribs. “Ah my ribs!” …. I can’t feel them at all.”  now Darnel with blood on his chest he and Wallace started walking towards the center of the power plant. “don’t worry I got you, …. ill treat your wounds here.” then he put bandages on the wounds. Then they continued. Until they saw a shadowed person, with a scar but he had no footprints, and the shadow was so dark that he’s not even seen by eyesight.

 

 

“Say WAH!!!!!!!!”

“Well, we seem to meet again huh.”  His voice was distorted and some of his words seen to be dysfunction. “don’t you remember who I am?” “No…. you can’t be!”   

“oooh but I am I am the one that beheaded your dear brother. he got the fate he deserved.” I am……., the bully, the nightmare that’s been following you for years, the……shadow.”  “With that nasty scar that was hit by my knife you’re not going to be able to live much longer.”   

“You…organized all the killings, didn’t you?

Yes, I did, I have the pleasure of killing them but the one I got the most pleasure in killing is jake.

”

 

You and my brother ruined me!”

“You! ….and Your Stupid Brother RUINED my Life!” your brother did it the worst. Always the star, always the center of attention no matter what and I was…… thrown away…casted as a shadow. I…. I tried so hard….to fit in…. but NOTHING!…..NOTHING! Just…. a… shadow.” when I saw you with him that was the final straw…he was able to have a……loving family. My Family Ditched me because of my rare side effect of being born with a black s and some dark matter within my DNA.  And they wanted nothing to do with me, and you and you brother had IT ALL! So, I decided to kill him make him see what it’s like to be consumed in the dark! 

“As I was running after I killed your brother; I fell into a tube of radioactive wastes by this near power plant and it fused into my Black DNA turning me into this abomination, a true shadow…. I…was…a freak. Each day it got worse, eventually to a point where I was going insane, and this happened for 35 YEARS!”  

Well now you know and heh……well……I must have your HEAD!

 

 

The mighty fight.

The shadow, using his speed was ready to hit Darnel but due to his wound made it harder to dodge the attacks, but he was able to dodge it.   Wallace then tried to use his gun to shoot the shadow, but the bullets just went right through him.

“Ahhhh, I see you want to play little one then let’s play.”

Then his arm formed into hammer and Wallace was hit. Wallace kept going and trying to hit the shadow In any shape or form, but nothing was working. The shadow then persisted and attacked both Wallace and Darnel. Darnel tried to dodge more attacks, but it didn’t work and eventually the wound caught up to him. The shadow swooped over changing his size and camouflaged into the dark environment. and then had a barrage of attacks to slash both of them in different directions.

“What do we do?” “We can’t hit him, he’s too fast.”

“I… I don’t know.” 

Then he turned his hand into a blade with red in his eyes he began to attack and was ready to kill Wallace with the lightning strikes outside, and with the complete darkness of the power plant.  As he began to hit Wallace one of the lights turned on, on top of the shadow and it burned his hand.

“ow” “arrghh, it’s your time for the shadow to consume you!”

“That’s it!” “It’s the light.” The light is the only way to get rid of the darkness.” Wallace, do you have any flashlights on you?”

Wallace struggling to breathe said; “yes, but it’s a little destroyed.” 

.  “Perfect it’ll still work I just have to-then the shadow interrupted saying.

 

 

Fighting your fears.

“Oh, I see…well then Darnel let me show you what’s it’s like to be consumed by the darkness.” 

Then the shadow turned into a black spirit and latched onto Darnel and then darnel could only see the darkness until he saw…. the ally way? It seemed to be some sort of flashback to darnels Darkest memories.

“What happened?” “Wallace Where are you?”

His voice was shaking, and he was stuttering his words.

“I…. I can’t see.” “Oh…. Oh no…. not this again” 

Then the flashback played showing the events that happened to his brother. Darnel was scared and with rage and sadness. It’s seems that he was forced to relive the trauma that has been haunting him for years.

“Jake is…that you?” “WAIT……don’t……leave me.” Then Darnel witnessed the death of his brother once more and he screamed.

“Nooooo; Jake!” “Not again. Not again…. I…can’t lose you again.  Then Wallace witnessed what was happening to Darnel and the shadows attacked him and, but Wallace shouted.  

“Darnel what happened?”  stuck within the memories that the shadow trapped him in he said with deep thought.

“It’s…the…. day when it all happened.” 

“Darnel, you got to snap out of it; It’s not real it’s some sort of allusion. 

 

 

Are you truly ready to step out of the darkness?

I…. I…can’t do it…. I’m scared of losing him again. 

“Don’t worry.” “Just hear my voice…ok.” “I know it’s hard to get past that stuff, but it doesn’t determine who you are in the present.”  Wallace then takes the candle wax, that was in the power plant and the broken flashlight and made it into a light beam of some sort and threw it at Darnels direction.  During the flashback, the shadow is also tormenting Darnel.

“You know how bad the dark is…you have firsthand experience; you and I are the SAME! Influenced by the shadow that consumes us, FACE IT… You can’t fight what not there nor the shadow that consumes you …I can just feel it Ah ha ah haa!” 

“Darnel” “Remember to take a second and to see the light through the dark and just to take one step, one step forward, only you can choose to take that step.”

“Wait your right this doesn’t determined who I am, it’s my turn to take the step.”   

“Where do you think you’re going? “You can’t escape the darkness it’ll just keep going until you like me.”  “After all we are alike.”

No, I’m nothing like you.  I’m not mean, scary, or vengeful and I’m ready to move on and to take the step forward and not letting the shadow consume me unlike you I’m ready to put that in the past to continue doing stuff in my life that makes me….me. With his mind in the right direction a beam of light appaired and he walked into light.

 

 

The pain is done.

After Darnel walked into the light the allusion disappeared. The light faded, and the dim light was from a light beam. The shadow now angered and confused came to attack Darnel with his blade but then Darnel dodged as the blood is coming out of him. he went to go retrieve the light beam and blocked his attack. The light hit the shadow and he was burnt a little.

“Ow no….nooo!… You were not supposed to do that arghh! Now perish!”  and with blood in his eyes the shadow prepares to strike at darnel once more but with no luck darnel blocked the strike saying….

“Is that the best you’ve got?” 

Then both the shadow and Darnel exchanged blows then Wallace turned on the power plant and used the light to stun the shadow then Darnel looked at the shadow ready the hit the final blow saying……

“you followed me for so long but now the light prevails I’m done running away,”

Then he hit the shadow and with that the shadow was gone as well as the shadow within Darnel too.

“Good job you…did it. You got past your trauma.”

“Yea I took your advice and realized I had to take the step forward and learned that the shadow in all of us is smaller than how it really was.” 

 

 

“So, what’s next?”

the wounds were worse and started to catch up to them; Both Wallace and Darnel almost on the verge of dying they went to the hospital and made an exceptionally good recovery. The shadow was arrested and sent to a Labatory to be tested on.

“No…. No…. get me out of here! I… will kill you all!  

“Yeah, right just keep talking.”

“Sigh.” “Wallace, thank you. I don’t know what I would do without you, you really saved me back there.”

“You’re welcome, always happy to help a friend.” “So… detective what’s next?”  

“What’s next is to solve another case, I don’t know what the future is going to hold but I know well do it together…my…friend.”
