The Thinking Tree

Alone sat the tree
Without worry
For in his oaken stump
Thinks the thinking tree

Knowledge untold
Centuries of wisdom
For now and on forever more
Thinks the thinking tree

Wise with age
For all we know all-knowing
And yet in ways quite like man
Thinks the thinking tree

The wind may howl, waves may churn
And man may cut him down
But until he is turned to dust
Still thinks the thinking tree
